After a wanted man was apprehended in a newmarket, a loaded gun and drugs were seized

Following a search for a man wanted in the Town of Newmarket for violating his court orders, York Regional Police found a loaded revolver and a significant amount of cocaine.

Uniformed police were looking for a wanted individual in the vicinity of Mary Street and Srigley Street on Saturday, May 11, 2024, at around 7:30 a.m. After leaving a house, the suspect got into a car and tried to get away from the police before crashing into a ditch not far from there. A short foot pursuit resulted in the culprit being apprehended quite swiftly.

Along with some cash and cocaine, the officers also took possession of a loaded firearm.
